DESCRIPTION
DIACOM Metformin + Glibenclamide Tablet 500 mg / 5 mg is a fixed dose oral antidiabetic combination.
• Metformin is a biguanide that lowers blood glucose by reducing hepatic glucose production and improving insulin sensitivity.
• Glibenclamide (glyburide) is a sulfonylurea that stimulates insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells.
Together, they provide complementary mechanisms to achieve better glycemic control in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

USES
• Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
• For patients whose blood glucose is not adequately controlled with diet and exercise alone or with monotherapy
• Helps control fasting and post prandial blood glucose levels

DOSAGE
• Adults: Dosage is individualized based on blood glucose response
• Commonly taken once or twice daily with meals, or as prescribed by a healthcare professional

PRECAUTIONS
• Not indicated for Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis

• Metformin should be used cautiously in conditions predisposing to lactic acidosis

SIDE EFFECTS
