DESCRIPTION
TGP Atorvastatin Tablet 80 mg contains atorvastatin calcium, a lipid lowering medicine classified as a statin (HMG CoA reductase inhibitor). It works by reducing cholesterol production in the liver, thereby lowering total cholesterol, LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, and triglycerides, while modestly increasing HDL (“good”) cholesterol. The 80 mg strength is typically used for patients requiring intensive lipid lowering therapy.

USES
• Treatment of hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol)
• Management of mixed dyslipidemia

DOSAGE
• Adults:
o 10–80 mg once daily, as prescribed by a physician
o The 80 mg dose is usually reserved for patients requiring maximum LDL reduction
May be taken with or without food.
Take at the same time each day.
Swallow tablet whole with water.

PRECAUTIONS
• Do not exceed the prescribed dose
• Contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding
• Avoid use in patients with active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevation of liver enzymes
• Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment, hypothyroidism, or a history of muscle disorders
• Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness immediately
• Avoid excessive alcohol intake

SIDE EFFECTS
Common:
