DESCRIPTION
ATENURIX Febuxostat Film Coated Tablet 20 mg contains febuxostat, a non purine selective xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It reduces the production of uric acid in the body and is used for the long term management of elevated serum uric acid levels in patients with gout.

USES
• Treatment of chronic hyperuricemia in patients with gout
• Helps prevent gout attacks by maintaining controlled uric acid levels
• Reduces urate crystal formation and deposition in joints and tissues
Not intended for the treatment of acute gout attacks

DOSAGE
• Adults: One tablet (20 mg) once daily, with or without food, as prescribed by a healthcare professional
• Dosage may be adjusted based on serum uric acid levels and clinical response
• Gout flare prophylaxis (e.g., NSAIDs or colchicine) may be recommended when starting therapy
• Treatment is usually long term

PRECAUTIONS
• Use with caution in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease
• Liver function monitoring is recommended during treatment
• Initiation of therapy may trigger gout flares due to mobilization of urate deposits
• Contraindicated with azathioprine or mercaptopurine
