DESCRIPTION
CRESART Olmesartan Medoxomil Film Coated Tablet contains olmesartan medoxomil, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict. By relaxing and widening blood vessels, olmesartan lowers blood pressure and reduces the workload on the heart, helping improve cardiovascular outcomes.

USES
• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Reduction of cardiovascular risk associated with uncontrolled blood pressure
• Adjunct therapy in patients requiring ARB treatment for blood pressure control
• Renal and vascular protection in hypertensive patients, as prescribed

DOSAGE
Use strictly as directed by a physician.
• Adults: 20 mg once daily
• Dose may be increased to 40 mg once daily if additional blood pressure control is needed
The tablet may be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day. Swallow whole with water.

PRECAUTIONS
• Contraindicated during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters
• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, hepatic impairment, or dehydration
• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and serum potassium levels regularly
• Avoid potassium supplements or potassium containing salt substitutes unless advised
• Use with caution in patients receiving diuretics due to risk of hypotension
• Consult a healthcare professional before use during breastfeeding
• Inform the physician of all other medications being taken to avoid interactions

SIDE EFFECTS
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Diarrhea

Side effects are generally mild and more common at the start of therapy.
