DESCRIPTION
ROPINE Felodipine Extended Release Tablet contains felodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker formulated in an extended release (ER) tablet. Felodipine works by relaxing and widening peripheral blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure and reduces the workload on the heart. The extended release formulation provides smooth, 24 hour blood pressure control with once daily dosing.

USES
• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Reduction of cardiovascular risk associated with elevated blood pressure
• Adjunct therapy when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy

DOSAGE
Use strictly as directed by a physician.
• Adults: 5 mg once daily
• Dose may be adjusted (usually 2.5–10 mg daily) based on blood pressure response and tolerability
Administration:
• Take once daily, preferably in the morning
• Swallow the tablet whole with water
• Do not crush, chew, or split the extended release tablet
• May be taken with or without food, but avoid high fat meals

PRECAUTIONS
• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment; dose adjustment may be required
• May cause excessive lowering of blood pressure, especially at treatment initiation
• Avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice, which can increase felodipine levels

SIDE EFFECTS
