DESCRIPTION
RITEMED Losartan Film Coated Tablet contains losartan potassium, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It lowers blood pressure by relaxing and widening blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily. Losartan also provides kidney protective benefits, particularly in patients with hypertension and type 2 diabetes.

USES
• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Reduction of risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy
• Kidney protection in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension
• Cardiovascular risk reduction associated with high blood pressure

DOSAGE
Use strictly as directed by a physician.
• Adults: 100 mg once daily
• Dose may be adjusted based on blood pressure response and patient condition
Tablet may be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day.

PRECAUTIONS
• Contraindicated during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters
• Use with caution in patients with kidney disease, liver impairment, or dehydration
• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels regularly
• Avoid potassium supplements or potassium containing salt substitutes unless advised
• Use with caution in patients receiving diuretics due to risk of hypotension
• Consult a healthcare professional before use during breastfeeding
• Inform the physician of all other medications being taken to avoid interactions

SIDE EFFECTS
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Low blood pressure (hypotension)
• Fatigue
• Headache
• Increased potassium levels (hyperkalemia)

Side effects are usually mild and occur more commonly at the start of therapy.
