Cefuroxime is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, throat, skin, nose, bones, joints, bladder, or kidneys. Cefuroxime can also be used to treat gonorrhea, meningitis, sepsis, or early stages of Lyme disease. Cefuroxime can be given through injections prior to surgery to prevent infections. Cefuroxime does not work for sickness caused by viruses such as the common cold.
Indication:
The cefuroxime tablets can be used to treat the following:

Hypersensitivity to cefuroxime or to other cephalosporins.
Special Precautions:
History of hypersensitivity to penicillin, and GI disease (particularly colitis). Renal impairment. Pregnancy and lactation.
