How much and how often should you use the product?
Amoxicillin is usually taken three times a day, every 8 hours. Use this medicine under the prescription of your doctor and complete the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared. If this happens, keep taking the medicine as prescribed. Skipping doses may also increase your risk of further infection caused by bacteria that has grown resistant to antibiotics. Amoxicillin will not treat a viral infection such as flu or a common cold.
Take amoxicillin at the same time each day.
Do not share your amoxicillin with another person even if you share the same symptoms.
Pharmacological action: Amoxicillin is in the class of beta-lactam antimicrobials. Beta-lactams act by binding to penicillin-binding proteins that inhibit a process called transpeptidation (cross-linking process in cell wall synthesis), leading to activation of autolytic enzymes in the bacterial cell wall.
