Adult & children over 8 years old : 250 ? 500mg every 6 hours or 500mg ? 1 g every 12 hours. In severe infections, a daily dose of up to 4 g or as prescribed by a physician. Erythromycin and its derivatives should be avoided in those known to be hypersensitive to it, or in those who have previously developed liver disorders while receiving it. All forms of erythromycin should be used with care in patients with existing liver disease of hepatic impairment.
